The Story

A film in three acts.

IThe Gap

A city building without its builders.

Nashville’s growth has priced out many of the communities that built it, and the emerging developers who could change that rarely get the access, capital, or training to break in. That tension is where the film starts.

IIThe Academy

A program that opens the door.

Backed by more than $5 million from Amazon’s Housing Equity Fund, ULMT built an academy that hands emerging developers the tools of the trade: formal development training, project financing workshops, and a seat at the table with city leaders. Free to every participant.

IIIThe Voices

Told by the people doing the work.

WCG filmed across three active development sites in Nashville and let the people closest to the work carry the story: cohort members and program leadership, in their own words, on the ground where the building happens.

The Partnership

Language evolves. The film kept up.

A year after delivery, ULMT needed the film’s language updated. The request landed at 11:27 in the morning. The revised cut was in their shared folder by 1:07 the same afternoon, at no charge. That is what a production partner is for.
